It's Spring Break!
- Ello guys, how have you been? I have been doing okay, stressed, but overall okay. School has been drowning me in work and I am constantly feeling stressed. I have not been able to upload these past few weeks on my normal schedule, but I am hoping Spring Break will give me some time to pre-record videos. Speaking of videos... Love Doctor 101 is almost over! For those of you asking, no, there will not be a season 3. This was the first series on my channel that I finished and I even added another season to. I feel like this show has run its course and I am ready to focus on new things. This series will always have a special place in my heart and I am happy I shared it with you all. The last video of this series will be the reunion show, where the fan favorites will be revealed. After Love Doctor I will be working on way more Four Stories episodes because I know most of my subscribers came for that series alone. I am trying to make my episodes longer and more frequent. I also have some new series ideas and I will be continuing Karaoke Night. Much to look forward to in the future. - Song of the Week: Kero Kero Bonito - Flamingo link New Video Hint: REUNION The hardest part about being a YouTuber is managing time. Since I am in school, I have to balance time I put into school and time I put into YouTube (let's forget about having a social life too). Over the years I have found my easiest "method" of time management, so I'd like to share it with you guys. MAKE A SCHEDULE. That's it. I write out a schedule for each month with all of the videos I plan to upload for each day. I start off with about four videos a month, one each week. I write out each video in bullet points to figure out how long the video will be. As the months progress, I would add more videos to my schedule. But let's start with just a video a week.
- I would start out by planning my video for the week out in my journal on a Monday, giving me fie days (until the weekend) to plan out my video. This is the most important step. If you have your video planned out before you film, you can take less time in the filming step. Once my video is planned out, I gather all of the required LPS, sets, props, etc. and set them up. By this time it is Saturday. I designate that day to filming. I wake up and say "Okay, today I need to film a video by 2:00 so I have time to do homework." If I film my video in the morning, that leaves time for my school work in the afternoon. Then Sunday is the editing day. I try to get my filming and editing done in the morning so I have time in the afternoon for whatever I want to do. When I have extra days off from school I try to film as many videos as possible to stay ahead of my schedule. - Hopefully this helped some of you out! If you get used to setting and following a schedule, it will become a routine. Feel free to leave me questions in the comments; I'll answer them in my next blog post because I cannot reply to comments without my email showing up. - Song of the Week: Nicki Minaj -Feeling Myself (SUPERFRUIT Cover) link New Video Hint: Last one of these! This is the craziest thing ever! If you did not know my YouTube channel has reached fifty thousand subscribers. It was actually a dream come true. If you have not seen what I plan on doing to commemorate 50k, watch this video please.
- In today's blog post I am going to talk about future plans for my channel. I feel like I should have done this when the year started but just now I have got my schedule figured out. Every Friday there will be a main video. A main video can consist of an episode to Four Stories, Love Doctor 101, or Karaoke Night. It could also be a short skit. Sundays are DIY days. No, I will not be posting every Sunday. It is simply a bonus video to go along with the main Friday video. It can be an #AskPete, Coco Vlog, Four Stories Bonus, Behind the Scenes, or announcement video. As for these blog posts, I hope to post one every Saturday. - Today's blog post was pretty short because I have to do lots of school work. Next weeks post should be longer. Btw I love when you guys comment on my posts, it lets me know people actually read them :) - Song of the Week: Cashmere Cat - Mirror Maru link New Video Hint: Another series episode Woohoo! New video is up and Love Doctor 101 is back. I have finally filmed the next episode and this time I promise I will not take a (almost) year long break from it. Also I am happy to see that my LPS: Revenge video got positive feedback. I was not quite sure if anyone would understand it, which very few did, but everyone seemed to enjoy it regardless. If you did not understand it just look up MLG Montage Parody on YouTube.
- I have a six day weekend now that I am done with exams! I have filmed three videos so far but I plan on spreading out my uploads. For those of you asking, Four Stories is still being worked on. There is no way it is going to end because it is my favorite series. I am trying to interact with my viewers through social media more. Not many people use Twitter and I am not sure why. About a year ago Twitter was crawling with LPS lovers and now it is dead. If you are one of the few that still uses Twitter, feel free to chat with me there. I love Twitter and wish more people used it. Most use Instagram. I have become active on it within the past few months and I am constantly posting new pictures. Many people try to talk to me through Instagram so I cannot talk to everyone but I am trying my best. I hope to set up a group chat on kik for the LPS community on Instagram because I think it would be a great way to connect. For those asking, no I do not have a Facebook. Honestly I have no idea how to use Facebook so I do not plan on using it. - Song of the Week: Jack Garratt - Worry (This is SO catchy) link New video hint: There will be two videos, both have a high demand Yay! The first post was a huge success. I am so happy that you guys are actually reading and commenting. In the last pos, quite a few people requested me to do a Q&A video. I have a small series already on my channel called #AskPete. I do these videos every so often and I normally ask for questions through Twitter and Instagram. If enough people want me to, I will make a a huge Q&A video and ask for questions through YouTube. I normally find those videos to become quite boring so I just make #AskPete.
- Today's post is going to be about goals. It's important to set goals so you know what you want to accomplish. My goal as of now is to reach 50,000 subscribers by the end of January. This is very ambitious because at the rate my subscribers are growing now, I won't reach my goal in time. I have some ideas on how to make this happen. First and for most, I will try to upload regularly again. I think I finally have my school sorted out: I will do my homework on Saturdays and on Sunday I will film. This gives me the rest of the week to edit my video and post it on Monday. I wanted to film several videos over my break but I got sick so now I am set back. Oh well, what can you do? - This week I have exams so I am not sure if my new video will be up by Friday. - Song of the week: OMFG - Hello link This song makes me very happy :) New video hint: I am bringing something back... Hey everyone! This is my first ever blog post. Blogging is something new I am trying out. I plan on updating this blog weekly so I can tell you about what is going in my life and about videos. Each post will also have my song of the week and a link because music is such a big part of my life. I enjoy sharing and listening to new music and maybe I can connect more with my viewers. Each post I will also include a hint to what the next video will be on my channel. So without further ado... welcome to my blog. Happy 2015 everyone!
